The Leek Branch

Weeds beyond Leek Tunnel, 1975 We managed to travel a further 600 yards to within sight of Leek Aqueduct in a channel of clear water only 2 foot wide before becoming firmly embedded in the weeds.

Stuck in the weeds between West Bridge and Leek Aqueduct, 1975 I had been amazed to get this far.

Under West Bridge amongst the reeds, 1975 With some difficulty we extricated ourselves from the reeds, and it began to rain. We stopped for lunch under the bridge, having justifiably decided no-one else was likely to come past!
